Sharing a couch...
Being enthusiastic about a project and working on it alone can be a source of anxiety. This isn't something new to me. I've worked on a number of creative projects alone. Mostly costumes or short writing projects, or sometimes the organization of an event. Despite all the confidence in the world that you know what you're doing, you still get those nagging questions.
"Is it good enough?" "What could I have done better?" "Will anyone else like it?" "What the hell was I thinking?"
So when you receive positive responses as I have, it's comforting, reassuring. It makes the questions go away for a while. Still, I knew I only had a printer friendly version and there was work to be done. I need to have some artwork, and I wanted VTT assets since online play is so prevalent these days. That's where Summer came in.
If you've already read my Thanks and Acknowledgements, you'll already know that Summer was the one that encouraged me to make this game hack a reality. She also got to see the pre-release and let me know I was on the right track. When someone is as enthusiastic as you are for your idea, it's encouraging and amazing what can happen. So now I give thanks to her once again. First she sent me a concept she had for a card back, then she offered to create a template for the front, and she created the title card as well. I was amazed and at that point I just knew she was the right person to commission for the VTT assets. I wasn't wrong. The design is beautiful, simple, and does what is needed. In my definition, it's elegant. She even thoughtfully added a card with sizing instructions for the popular site Roll20, a detail I know I would have forgotten.
Thank you Summer, thank you very much.
